What's in the box?
After watching this STEMbites clip on shapes and their attributes, the students were given 6 index cards and a length of masking tape. Their task was to create a box, specifically a rectangular prism. Many choose to decorate the sides of the box first and as they began to share their finished boxes, each of the children shared the purpose they imagined for the box. A few children added hinges and locks to their boxes, using only the leftover index card scraps and tape.
